                   Anniversary

We didn’t get too much more information within the last fie years but
we have seen how we overcome the difficulties about American Chi-
nese’s rights. We have seen things get easier as time goes by and how
the Chinese diversities bring so much influence into the society, and
that’s what our CCBA is trying work on in the future.

Since the CCBA was founded over a hundred years ago, the United
States has seen an increased amount of freedom and equality between
the various races and the genders that comprise its people. Congress’s
acknowledgement and apology for the treatment of Chinese immi-
grants due to the 1882 Chinese Exclusion Act has great resonance with
the CCBA because it, on a deeper level, affects not only the Chinese im-
migrants of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, but also people of
other backgrounds. Congress’s response sets a precedent that the CCBA
hopes may prevent future generations from making similar mistakes,
whether it be towards a particular race, gender, or other form of dis-
                                                 crimination.

Now we can turn that page over and we can have a better vision and a
clear view of the history and the future. We also hope that the entire
society can support us by treating us Chinese Americans fairly, and also
we can set up a more peaceful world.

The statue of Zhongshan Sun has always been something that I have
to pay an attention to, no matter how rush I am or how tired I am. He
leaded China out of the Age of Empire into a whole new democracy so-
                                                 ciety. He had such a strong love and desire for his fellowmen’s welfare;
he chose to fight against unrighteousness. Now, what have I done for
                                                 my fellow beings?
