巍峨的羅省中華會館大樓是前輩先賢的努力成果，今天的我們是
在享用前人留下的基業。彙編特刊的時間匆促，過程中曾多方設
想，希望能夠有別於120週年特刊的呈現；於是，時下新科技的
電子書，網路版等等，都包羅在研討範圍之中，因此，靈光乍現
之間，也提醒了我，擔任主席的職務並不只是依章執行會館的行
政與事務，還要和所有的會員和職員一起合作，肩負起羅省中華
會館的歷史責任。即使當前的大環境改變了，限制了，甚至取代
了羅省中華會館原有的許多功能，但在回顧的同時，我們更需要
從新的視野和新的需要上擴展和提昇羅省中華會館的「新功能」
。
We inherited what the pioneers of this CCBA had founded. As a presi-
dent, I realized hat I can’t only just follow the written rules but also
council with every member of this committee. Even though the new en-
vironment may restrict us, but we have the desire to have a new vision
and also a new function.

大時代、大環境的急遽變遷之下，僑團成員的日漸凋零，年輕一
代的沒有足夠時間積極參與，已經是羅省中華會館所有成員在聯
誼和例行活動之外，急需考慮和設想的問題，我們如何讓自己的
會所與時俱進，如何讓羅省中華會館繼續前人的腳蹤，在新世紀
的華埠和華埠以外的社區發光發亮。
Members are aging, younger generation won’t participate, we must take
those into consideration as we plan to let the CCBA keep pace with the
time and let it contribute more to this society.

我從不敢妄想或企圖與前輩先賢比肩，只是每一次站在主席台上
時，我都希望自己有最好的表現：大公無私，公平正義，事無遺
漏。雖然事事未能盡如人意，但抱持著個人的責任和義務的心，
是真誠的。我願意為羅省中華會館的一切事物盡一己之力，無論
它對於羅省中華會館、華埠，乃至社會是多麼的微不足道。
Every time when I stand on this stage, I kept telling myself I have to
be an example for my fellowmen. Even though I can’t make everything
happen as we planned, however, I have a pure heart to serve. I’m willing
to do whatever I can to help our CCBA.

慶祝羅省中華會館創立125週年之時，我們紀念前輩先賢一磚一
瓦地鋪砌通往正義的大道，一磚一瓦地建立會館的大樓，以及
125年的暑往冬來，締造了羅省中華會館的精神。今時今刻，讓
我們也共同為羅省中華會館的傳承搭建一塊磚，一片瓦。我們不
僅受益於前人的慷慨和無私，也當為鼓勵後人而有所作為和貢
獻。相較於往昔生活在坎坷歲月中，為平權奮戰的在美華人，其
實我們所做的一切都是那麼有限，然而不能因為事小而不為，也
更不能為事難而退縮，願你我攜手共勉之。
We commemorate that our pioneers had done for CCBA, and we are also
thankful for the spirit they’ve put in. Now, let’s become a pioneer and to
give more to this CCBA. Even though we may fail or think we may fail,
but if we work together, we can make small seeds into big trees. I hope
that we may walk on this path together to help and support each other.
